In this class you'll be taught the history of soap making, how to properly use lye, oils used to make a great bar of soap, the saponification process, and the tools of the trade. We'll teach basic lab safety for manufacturing cold process soap as well as the process of creating a soap recipe your skin will love.
This class is ideal for beginners who want a better understanding of soap making. We'll provide step by step directions with hands on learning allowing each participant to jump right in to enjoy the soap making experience. After taking the class each participant will have the skills necessary to design their own recipes and be prepared for advanced soap making lessons.
We'll work together in the class with each participant taking home 1 pound of soap to cure and use at a later date. The class size is a maximum of 6 people to allow each participant time with the instructor and ensure safety rules are understood and followed. To help each student become SOAPSTARS your take home kit will include safety literature, cold process soap making instructions, more beginning soap making formulas, and other soap making resources. You will also be able to purchase other soap making supplies to take home and practice.
